First time seeing this on the big screen, part of Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s 100th anniversary celebration.

The Movie Jawn folks were in the lobby selling zines, and they captured me buying a copy of their Summer 2023 issue with The Ghost & Mrs. Muir art on the cover.

I’ve seen this movie enough times at this point that the top-line pleasures are very familiar, and I tend to focus on the supporting characters like Dinah and Liz. Seeing it with a packed house is a very different experience, too — the laughs just hit harder.

Of the big three Grant/Hepburn comedies (Holiday, Bringing Up Baby, and The Philadelphia Story) I draw the most connection between Holiday and this one, because both actively engage with the theme of class and how it affects marriage. I wish we had gotten more movies from the duo.
