I tried reading Project Hail Mary but bounced off it very hard. I ended up rereading this one…it’s been a long time so I remembered very little of the story. At times you can feel Mitchell wondering how much to commit to the genre elements of his story, but overall I think it works. I thought most about the final section of the book and how some of that dystopian future feels closer than ever.
