Em and I got into Madison Cunningham through her Cunningham Bird project covering the rare Buckingham Nicks album. I happened to glance at the regular emails from Ardmore Music Hall and her name jumped out for a show a few days later.

Ardmore Music Hall is a great venue to catch acts on the way up (or down, sometimes) — it’s close enough to Philadelphia that some peformers make it their Philly stop. I imagine it’s a little bit easier to get booked there than in some of the downtown venues.

Madison Cunningham took the stage solo at the piano before her bandmate Jesse Chandler joined her — Chandler juggling multiple instruments including a bass clarinet, flute, and a keyboard, occasionally looping things with a foot controller.
